HISTORY

The history of Lien Properties began with Dr. George Lien Ying Chow, an eminent philanthropist, business leader, banker and hotelier. Throughout his lifetime, Dr. Lien made significant contributions to numerous public and social organizations.

His entry into real estate led to the development of several iconic projects, including: Overseas Union Gardens, a well-established freehold township in Malaysia (1970); Lien Towers Singapore (1970); Mandarin Orchard Singapore (now Hilton Hotel), which was then the largest 5-star hotel in Singapore (1971); Mandarin Gardens (1986), one of the largest private residential developments with over 1,000 units; and OUB Centre (1988) at 1 Raffles Place, designed by Kenzo Tange and once the tallest building outside the United States.

Lien Properties Private Limited was established to hold and manage the legacy property assets of Dr. George Lien Ying Chow.

Among its key assets is The Lien Villa Collective—an estate that has evolved from its original Colonial Bungalows into a collection of nine unique villas, continuing to represent the family’s legacy.

An interview with Vincent Lien on The Lien Villas

“Everyone who has been to the estate likes a different house… I think that each visitor selects the house that they would like to live in, but there is not one house that everyone likes the most. We have supplied houses for people with different taste and preferences. Basically, we have built an eye-catching and pleasing collection of houses… the development is unique and what I had hoped for… I am very proud of this development, very proud indeed.”
